Going Green No.... Not Sure How to Start
How to start being green. Start
with the simple things first, to get in the groove of it.
Recycle. We recycle our tea leaves, and coffee grounds into the
compost pile. Our most recycled herbal tea is Wu Long, which is
great for the compost heap. Most city have a recycling plan in
place. The most common are: soda cans, cardboard, paper,
paper towels, tins, and plastic bags. Next:
Review your local powder company's web page. While doing a
quick review of the larger ones, I found tips how to save
energy. The easiest one is using Compact fluorescent
bulbs, clear air filters, and sealing cracks. Another
Thought: Car pool, Bus, or Van pool. I work close
enough that I can walk to work.... and with all this snow we have
had and cost of fuel it is a good thing. Bus
schedules are much better than they ever used to be, and buses
usually use bio-fuel. All of our computers here at
1stChineseHerbs.com and our sister store DiscountNaturalHerbs.com
have two monitors. When the representative, staff, and
warehouse leave their stations, the monitors are manually turned
off. The printers are on energy savings, which means after
non use of 20 minutes or more they turn themselves
off. We no longer use single bottled water, we have
installed a purifier on the kitchen sink faucet. All boxes and
packing materials are either reused or recycled. We recycle all
old computers, monitors, cell phones, and PDA's.
But I have to say our biggest effort to reducing waste
contacting www.CatalogChoice.org
and www.GreenDimes.com to
avoid unwanted junk mail.
We have cut our unwanted junk mail down to a trickle. Please
join us in making a few simple choices which will last a lifetime.
