The Sheep Sorrel controversy when discussing Essiac Tea: To Root or not to Root, that is the question.
Sheep Sorrel in this blend by Starwest Botanicals is the "Herb" which means stem, or stem, leaf and twig. For some reason there is a controversy over if you want true Essiac Tea it MUST use Sheep Sorrel Root. This is not true. If though you look up the history of Nurse Rene Caisse you will see that the Sheep Sorrel which she was taught to use by a Canadian Ojibwa Indian, was the herb, and not the root. Again if viewing the documentation, it states very clearly that the authentic Essiac contains Sheep Sorrel Leaves, the counterfeit contains Sheep Sorrel Root. Why this debate continues over the root or leaves is foolish, yet it is important to bring the truth to the forefront. Sadly many people will tell lies just to make a dollar, instead of caring about the quality and integrity of their herbs and formulas.
