The sliced form of Du Zhong is thin sheet of the bark. Though the size of thickness varies slightly, I would say that the overall sheet of the bark is less than 1/4 of an inch.  As shown in the picture above, it has a tread-like contour. This is the thin form, which can easily been broken into pieces.  Making a decoction from this form will take slightly less time than the thicker form, which is about 1/2 inch thick.
