Adrenal Support

The adrenal glands are two important glands located near our kidneys. You may know they produce adrenaline that gives us energy for our body’s “flight or fight” response to stress or danger, but the adrenal gland is also responsible for producing hormones that are vital to our body’s essential life processes such cardiovascular function and nutrient processing for energy.

The adrenal glands have two distinct parts, the adrenal cortex and the adrenal medulla. The adrenal cortex is triggered by the pituitary gland, hypothalamus and kidneys. The adrenal cortex produces vital hormones essential to life. It effects body processes such as transforming nutrients into energy, blood pressure, cardiovascular function, and immune function. The adrenal medulla is triggered by the sympathetic nervous system and produces non-essential life hormones such as adrenaline.

The health of these glands is extremely important to our overall physical health. Some of the health issues associated with adrenal disorders are Adrenal insufficiency, Addison’s disease, Primary aldosteronism, hyperaldosteronism, Pheochromocytoma, Cushing’s syndrome and congenital adrenal hyperplasia.
