The blazei mushroom (Agariucs Blazei Murill) is an edible brown cap mushroom that was discovered in the mountains of Brazil where it is known as Cogumelo do Sol (Mushroom of the Sun). Brazilians use the mushroom as a food source and for a variety of health concerns. The blazei mushroom was taken to Japan for study where it was found to contain anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, immunostimulant, antimicrobial, and hypoglycemic compounds.
