How to Save Money at 1st Chinese Herbs: Coupons, Sales, Bulk Herbs & More

Buying quality herbs doesn't have to mean paying more than necessary.

At 1st Chinese Herbs, we've been helping customers find Chinese herbs, Western herbs, herbal powders, extracts, teapills, mushrooms, teas, and other herbal products since 1994. We also offer several ways to help our customers save.

The problem? You may not know about all of them.

From coupons and monthly sales to bulk sizes and free shipping, here are some of the best ways to stretch your herbal budget when shopping at 1st Chinese Herbs.

1. New Customer? Try Coupon Code: TRY US

If you've never ordered from 1st Chinese Herbs before, start by checking our new-customer coupon.

Coupon code: TRYUS

We created this offer to give new customers an opportunity to try 1st Chinese Herbs and save on their first qualifying purchase.

Before completing your first order, enter TRYUS in the coupon-code box at checkout and review the offer details and any applicable restrictions.

It's our way of saying, “Welcome to 1st Chinese Herbs.”

2. Returning Customer? Use Our Loyal Customer Coupon

We appreciate the customers who return to us year after year.

That's why we offer a year-long coupon specifically for our returning customers.

Coupon code: LOYALCUSTOMER

If you've purchased from us before, check whether your order qualifies for our LOYALCUSTOMER offer before checking out.

You don't necessarily have to wait for a special holiday sale to look for savings. This coupon gives our returning customers another opportunity to save throughout the year.

3. Lyme Community Savings

We also offer a special coupon for customers in the Lyme community.

Coupon code: LYME

We know that the cost of purchasing products regularly can add up, and this discount is one way we try to help qualifying customers save.

Enter LYME in the coupon-code box during checkout and review the current offer terms and any applicable restrictions.

Please note: The LYME coupon is simply a customer discount program. Offering this discount does not mean that 1st Chinese Herbs is representing any product as a treatment, cure, preventative, or diagnostic product for Lyme disease.

4. Watch for Our Monthly Sales

Coupons aren't the only way to save.

Throughout the year, 1st Chinese Herbs runs different sales and special promotions. These may include storewide discounts or promotions on selected products and categories.

If you're planning a larger purchase and aren't in a hurry, check the website before ordering to see what's currently on sale.

Regular customers may find it worthwhile to time larger purchases around one of these promotions.

5. Compare Bulk Sizes

Buying a larger package can sometimes substantially reduce your cost per ounce.

Many of our herbs are offered in multiple sizes, which may include:

• 4-ounce packages

• 1-pound packages

• Larger bulk quantities on selected herbs

Don't automatically assume the smallest bag is the least expensive choice.

Instead, compare the price per ounce.

If you use an herb regularly and can properly store it, a larger package may provide better overall value.

6. Check Quantity and Multiple-Package Options

If you're purchasing an herb you use regularly, check whether larger quantities or multiple-package options offer a better value.

Sometimes buying several smaller packages makes sense. Other times, moving up to a larger bulk size provides the better cost per ounce.

Do the comparison before ordering.

And remember: buying more is only a savings when you're purchasing something you'll actually use.

7. Get Free U.S. Shipping on Qualifying Orders of $40+

Here's an easy savings opportunity that customers sometimes overlook.

1st Chinese Herbs offers free U.S. shipping on qualifying orders of $40 or more.

If your shopping cart is already close to $40, take a moment before checking out.

Are you almost out of another herb?

Do you need tea bags, an herbal accessory, or another product that you were going to order next week anyway?

Combining purchases you already intended to make may allow you to reach the free-shipping threshold rather than paying shipping on two separate orders.

Of course, don't buy something you don't need simply to qualify for free shipping.

8. Combine Your Orders

One simple habit can save frequent herb buyers money:

Keep a running herbal shopping list.

When you're getting low on something, add it to your list rather than immediately placing a one-item order.

Then, when you're ready to order, you can purchase several needed items together.

This can help you reach the free-shipping threshold and reduce the number of separate shipments you need throughout the month.

9. Compare Different Forms and Sizes

Many herbs are available in more than one form.

Depending on the herb, you may find:

Whole herbs
Cut and sifted herbs
Herbal powders
Concentrated extract powders
Traditional Chinese teapills

These products aren't necessarily interchangeable, so choose the form appropriate for your intended use.

Once you've determined the form you want, however, compare the available package sizes and prices.

A little comparison shopping on the same website can sometimes uncover a better value.

10. Stock Up During Sales—Wisely

When one of the herbs you regularly purchase goes on sale, consider whether it's a good opportunity to buy your next package early.

The key word is regularly.

Buying three packages of something you never use isn't saving money just because it's 20% off.

But purchasing an extra package of an herb you already use regularly during a good promotion can make sense.

11. Store Your Herbs Properly

Saving money doesn't stop when your order arrives.

Protect what you've purchased.

Follow the storage instructions for your particular product and generally protect herbs from excessive:

Heat
Light
Moisture
Air exposure

Keep packages properly closed after use.

Good storage practices help protect the quality of the herbs you've already paid for and reduce unnecessary waste.

12. Check for Savings Before Every Order

Before clicking Place Order, take one minute and ask:

Am I a new customer who can use TRY US?

Am I a returning customer who qualifies for LOYALCUSTOMER?

Does the LYME discount apply to me?

Is there a current monthly sale?

Would a larger size cost less per ounce?

Is there a better quantity option?

Am I close to the $40 free-shipping threshold?

That one-minute check could make a meaningful difference over the course of a year.

Save Money Without Sacrificing Quality

Shopping economically doesn't necessarily mean buying the cheapest product.

It means getting the best value for what you actually need.

Compare package sizes. Check the cost per ounce. Combine planned purchases. Take advantage of free shipping. Watch our sales. And don't forget to check whether one of our coupon programs applies to you.

1st Chinese Herbs has been serving herbal customers since 1994, and we appreciate both the customers discovering us for the first time and those who have been shopping with us for years.

Before your next order, take a minute to check your options.

You may have more ways to save at 1st Chinese Herbs than you realized.
